About Us

Welcome to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church of Barrie!

Founded in 2019 as an Eastern Orthodox mission of the Orthodox Church in America.

With great joy, we share wonderful news. Our community has moved to a new church, now located at 7 Burton Avenue in Barrie. Until now, we gathered for prayer and services in a space on Saunders Road, but we finally have our own spiritual home — a place where we can pray, grow, and support one another in faith.

For us, this is more than just a move. It is a true step forward and an important milestone in the life of our parish. Having our own church building allows us to strengthen our community, deepen our prayer life, and draw even closer to one another.

We celebrate the Divine Liturgy in Russian and English according to the old (Julian) Calendar under the pastoral care of the Canadian Archdiocese of the Orthodox Church in America (OCA). We strive to remain faithful to the living and profound Orthodox tradition, lovingly handed down from generation to generation.

In our new church, we now have greater opportunities for common prayer, spiritual growth, and works of charity. We want everyone who enters our doors to feel at home — embraced by an atmosphere of warmth, respect, support, and love for Christ.
