Welcome to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church of Barrie!

Founded in 2019 as a mission of the Orthodox Church in America.

It is with great joy that we share wonderful news: our parish has moved into a new church, now located at 7 Burton Avenue, Barrie. Until now, we gathered for prayer and services in a space on Saunders Road, but at last we have our own spiritual home — a place where we can pray, grow, and support one another in the faith.

For us, this is not merely a change of address, but a true step forward, a significant milestone in the life of our community. Having our own church allows us to strengthen our parish, deepen our life of prayer, and draw ever closer to one another.

We continue to celebrate the Divine Liturgy in Church Slavonic according to the Old (Julian) Calendar, as before, under the pastoral care of the Canadian Archdiocese of the Orthodox Church in America (OCA). We strive to remain faithful to the living and profound Orthodox tradition, lovingly handed down from generation to generation.

In our new church, we now have greater opportunities for common prayer, spiritual growth, and works of charity. We want everyone who enters our doors to feel at home — embraced by an atmosphere of warmth, respect, support, and love for Christ.
